Free family programs are offered from June to October for visitors to Boston Harbor Islands. Programs are offered to take advantage of all of the resources of the islands.
Most programs are offered on the "hub islands"--Spectacle or Georges Island, both of which are an easy boat ride of downtown Boston.
To plan your trip, learn about the different islands and activities, look at ferry schedules, buy tickets online and see what is happening on the islands

The Boston Harbor Islands national park features 34 islands encompassing 1,600 acres and 35 miles of undeveloped ocean shoreline, all within 10 miles of downtown Boston. Featuring hiking trails, beaches, ranger-led tours, camping, kayaking, boat cruises, nature walks and historic sites, the number of islands, their proximity to a major metropolitan area and their significant natural and cultural features create a resource that has no parallel in the United States.
